Nathan Reed Miller, 58, of Chapin died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Born on May 17, 1965 in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Virginia Cunningham and Malcolm George Miller, Sr.

Reed was exceptionally smart and talented; he could do just about anything. Professionally, as owner of Miller Construction, where he used his skills working with specialty flooring. Outside of work, he used his talents for helping family and friends; whenever a need arose, Reed was there.

He was larger than life, with an infectious laugh and a giant smile. He enjoyed fast boats, fun cars, family and friends. He loved adventures and misadventures, he lived life fully.

Two of his greatest joys were sports and kids, and "Uncle Reed" was gifted at creating adventures and "MacGyver"-ing ways to entertain his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was the best gift-giver, the best bucking bronco, and the best "Uncle Reed" ever. Reed especially treasured the fishing trips and time spent making adventure videos with his grandson and best friend, Bryce.

He and Pam created a loving home and family, full of laughter and joy. Reed loved his family, they were his everything, and he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Kaye Miller; children, Rachel Long (Ryan), McKenzie Vernon, and Matthew Vernon; grandchildren, Bryce and Scarlett Long; siblings, Cindy Miller Corley (Rhett), Malcolm Miller, Kelvan Miller (Juliana), and Jeff Miller (Dawn); nieces and nephews, Ty Corley (LeAnna), Jayde Corley Finley (Evan); Mitchell Miller, Mason Miller, Rynn Miller, Madison Miller, and Brooke Luce; and great-niece and great-nephew, Nolan and Claire Corley.

A gathering to honor and celebrate Reed's life will be held on Monday July 3, 2023 from 4:oo to 7:00 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home, Chapin. A time of remembrance will take place at 5:30 PM.
