IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Norma J.
Cleavenger
March 13, 1927 – June 27, 2024
Norma Jean Cleavenger, 97, of Chapin, South Carolina, died Thursday morning, June 27, 2024, at Lexington Medical Center.
Born on March 13, 1927, in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late Robert Clifford McNaughton and the late Mabel Louise Ouglem McNaughton.
Norma was a tough, yet caring person. She worked hard and continued to work until her late seventies as a devoted waitress at Denny's, as well as a greeter at Walmart. Formerly from Huntington Beach, California, she moved to the Chapin area years ago to be closer to her family in South Carolina. She showed her love through cooking for others and was happy to fix you something to eat no matter what time of day or night.
Norma was a strong-willed mother raising the family she loved with all her heart.
She is survived by her son, Eric Holme (Kathi) of Chapin; daughters, Patricia Truesdell (Pat) of Alaska and Tina Hernandez (Ray) of California. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and her 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Thomas Holme; and her daughter, Judith Eiland.
