Dr. Theron Otis Walker, III, 74, of Newberry, passed away peacefully on August 8th, 2024, in his home. Born November 10th, 1949, in Greer, SC, he was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Theron Otis Walker, Jr. and the devoted husband of his wife, Cathy Waits Walker.

Otis is survived by his wife, sons, Matt (Jennifer) of Cayce, SC, Ashley Senn of North Augusta, SC, Todd (Lisa) of Easley, SC, and daughter, Sheena Senn (Ben) of Prosperity, SC. Otis had seven grandchildren, Landon, Avery, Ethan, Warren, Camden, Matthew and Sally. He is also survived by his two sisters, Beth (Marion) and Sally (Woody) and his furry companion, Benji.

Otis was a member of First Baptist Church of Newberry where he taught Sunday School for a number of years. He was an avid lover of nature and enjoyed long walks to admire the works of his Lord. Otis loved everyone, never met a stranger and would always do anything he could to help those in need.

He was a graduate of Furman University before receiving his PhD in Physics from Clemson University. He worked in Washington D.C. and Charleston, SC, before a 40 year career at Newberry College where he impacted generations of grateful students.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Newberry. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Relocation/Kingdom Advance fund for First Baptist Church, Newberry.
