Patricia Ann Bobilin

Patricia Ann Bobilin, 66, of Chapin, South Carolina died peacefully at her home on Sunday September 20, 2026.

Born on May 12, 1960, in Huntington, New York, she was the daughter of Theodore Christopher and Carolyn Brenner Bobilin.

Patricia was known for her Passion and dedication to her work. With the guidance of her father, Patricia built a very successful career with Playtex International and Coca Cola corporate. Most recently, she was in sales management as well as optometric design within the optical industry. She has won many awards throughout her career such as District Manager of the Year, Technology Award, and most recently the 2020 Most Influential Women in Optical. She also served as a member of the Optical Women's Association (OWA). More than anything, she loved seeing the results of her labor and knowing that her hard work made a difference.

During her college years she capitalized on her love of music working as a DJ at her college radio station and as a part time job. She loved rock n’ roll, jazz and blues from back in the day. Some of her favorite artists were Janis Joplin, BB King, Annie Lennox, Johnny Lang, and Joss Stone.

Patricia fondly remembered spending her childhood summers at camp on Shelter Island. Some of her happiest memories were made out on the water, clamming alongside her father. He even built a boat named “Lil Nipper," which was also her father's nickname for her. These are some of the memories she carried with her throughout her life.

Her life was not all work, though. Patricia loved art and art festivals, all kinds of music and has always enjoyed trying different foods. She believed in embracing life to the fullest. Her philosophy was “work hard, play hard,” and she did both with great enthusiasm.

Patricia is survived by her companion, Deirdre Smathers; her sister, Linda Bobilin Crow (Ross) and her two fur babies, Otto and Oliver.

A celebration of her life will be held on October 24th from 3 pm to 5 pm at Whitaker Funeral Home in Chapin, South Carolina.
