Patricia Rembert Hoover passed away on February 6, 2018, and into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, and is no doubt enjoying a glorious reunion with her parents, Hilda and George Hoover, brother George, Jr., and beloved grandparents Dr. and Mrs. Henry Hoover, and her precious son John Harrison Morgan.
"Patti" grew up in the Shandon area of Columbia and where she attended Schneider, Hand, and Dreher Schools, and where she was often seen roller skating down the street with her beloved dogs in tow.
She majored in Art at the University of South Carolina and was in the Chi Omega Sorority.
Patti was married to Judge Robert Morgan for 23 years and they raised three children, Bobby, Suzie, and Johnny on a horse and tobacco farm near Lillington, NC. She was loved by people from all walks of life in this rural community and taught her children to love and respect all God's children.
Patricia's love of nature and beauty was well reflected in her many paintings that span decades, and she was still painting and selling her artwork up until a few months before her death. She was a member of the Trenholm Artists Guild, and many Midlands families purchased her exquisitely detailed coat of arms paintings. She was also a professional floral designer at Rich's Dept. store and Shandon Greenhouses, and a member of the Forsythia Garden Club.
Mrs. Hoover was proud of her French Huguenot heritage but her greatest legacy to her children was her fervent and strong faith and belief in the power of prayer. She openly attributed her ability to cope with a life-long battle with depression and the death of a son to her close relationship with Christ.
Mrs. Hoover is survived by her son, Bob Morgan, (Denise), her daughter, Suzanne Wilkins (Robby), Angie Morgan, (widow of John), grandchildren: Olivia and Caroline Morgan, Gregory and Reese Wilkins, Harrison, Lauren and Meredith Morgan.
