Patricia "Pat" L. White Oneal, age 69, of Chapin died November 24, 2025 at MUSC Health Columbia Downtown.

Born February 5, 1956 in Anadarko, OK, she was the youngest of 10 children born to Lee and Lela Morris White.

Growing up in a large family shaped Pat in many ways, including her kind heart and unending willingness to help others. She was the type of person to be there for you with a hand or her classic matter of fact advice and encouragement.

No doubt, Pat's personality fit well in her career as a hairdresser, helping people look and feel their best.

Away from work, she enjoyed crafting of many kinds, always gifted at making things with her hands. Pat was also a pet lover, enjoying the company of her two pugs, Fargo and Prixie, until their passing. In recent years, her constant companion was her cat, Smokie.

Pat is survived by her partner in love and life for the last 15 years, Steve Ben Chiles; her sisters, Joanne Guinn and Neta; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by all but two of her siblings and her late husband, Norman Oneal.

In honor of Pat's love for pets, memorial contributions may be made to the Newberry County Humane Society.
