Patricia Pat Holden Benning 54 of Chapin died Monday April 20 2015 at Lexington Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 24 2015 at 3:30 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home in Chapin conducted by the Rev. Richard Webber. Born on August 26 1960 in Charlotte NC she was a daughter of the late George Jefferson Holden and Ethel Mae Tart Holden. Pat was raised in the home of Bennie and Edna Mae Helms after the death of her parents. She was an assistant manager for Walmart having worked with them for 22 years. Pat enjoyed quilting and sewing was a great cook and an exceptional wife mom and grandmother. To her family she was a gold medal person. She is survived by her husband of 34 years Mark Benning (her childhood sweetheart); daughters Brandy Simpkins (James) and Brittany Payne (Allen) both of Chapin; grandchildren Jesse Simpkins Mckenna Bryson and Brooklynn Payne; siblings Shirley Schwaiger Judy Mauldwin Elise Gainey George Holden Jr. and Williams Holden all of Charlotte NC; and sister-in-law Penney Kronenwetter (Steve) of Southport NC.
