Patricia Wise Scott, 82, of Prosperity, died Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Providence Hospital. Ms. Scott was born on April 27, 1934 in Jacksonville, FL, a daughter of the late Patrick E. and Bertha Putzek Wise. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and taught in the public school system in Florida and South Carolina, retiring from Mid-Carolina Middle School. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed helping fold church bulletins. Ms. Scott enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, and reading books on her Kindle. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge. She loved spending time with her family and was known as MiMi to many. She is survived by children, Melissa Mays (Thadd) of Newberry, Becky Moran (Jim) of Blythewood, Sonny Scott (Sharon) of Prosperity, and Michael Scott (Laurie) of West Columbia; grandchildren, Christopher Coward, Brantlee Coward, Daniel Scott, Sean Scott, Mason Scott, Ryan Scott, Grant Scott, Katie Scott, Josh Moody, and Carson Moody; great-grandchildren, Caden Coward, Corbin Coward, and Arabella Scott; niece and nephew, Laura Amick and Curt Amick (Mary Lynn); great-nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Amick, David Amick, Jordan Kirkpatrick, Jessica Ufford, and Kamryn Ufford; and a special friend and caregiver, Lula Brown. She was predeceased by her sister, Phyllis W. Amick. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church by the Rev. Michael Price. The family will receive friends following the service in The Ministry Center.
