Paul G. Willis Sgt. 1st Class Retired 74 of Newberry died Monday August 4 2014 at J F Hawkins Nursing Home. Born on January 1 1940 in Ellijay GA he was a son of the late John Anderson Willis and Elizabeth Carroll Willis. A veteran of the Vietnam War Mr. Willis served twenty-one years in the US Army before retirement. Following his military career he worked for American Finishing and Fiber. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Laurens. He is survived by his wife Laura Cain Willis; sons Billy Willis (Tammy) of Columbia and Johnny Willis (Angie) of Little Mountain; granddaughter Bryanna Willis of Columbia; siblings Inez Hudson Patsy Nichols Wilma Patterson and Danny Willis all of Ellijay GA. Mr. Willis was predeceased by siblings Annie Ruth Hogsed Irene Craig Alene Hooker and J.L. Willis. Military honors followed by inurnment was in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
