Obituary

Dr. Paul Greg Goetowski, age 67 of Lexington, SC, entered into God's Kingdom on November 23, 2023. Dr. Goetowski was born to Dr. Paul Goetowski and Marilynn Goetowski on November 14, 1957 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and University of Nebraska College of Medicine for medical school, specializing in the field of Radiation Oncology. With a career that spanned nearly 40 years, Dr. Goetowski practiced in North Dakota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia.

In addition to working as a physician, Dr. Goetowski also served as a professor, educating medical students and residents in the field of Oncology. Dr. Goetowski was known to his colleagues, staff, and patients as a compassionate, diligent, and humorous physician. Dr. Goetowski married his wife, Sheila M. Lyons-Goetowski, on July 1, 1983.

Dr. Goetowski and Sheila went on to have six children; family time was full of games, classic films (musicals and comedies especially), church activities, and cultural experiences, such as unique restaurants or live theater productions. Dr. Goetowski was a loyal servant to God; he loved sharing the Word of Our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, especially in song and music.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid participant of his home church, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Chapin, SC.

He is survived by many loving family members, including his wife, Sheila, and his six children: Killian Gerard Goetowski; Celia Goetowski Carroll, her husband John, and their infant son, Paul Lyons; Shane Daley Goetowski; Bridget Maureen Goetowski; Gareth Walsh Goetowski; and Noel Bernard Goetowski; his sister, Jody Johnson, and her two children, Jamie and Chad; and his sister Susie Covolik, and her two children Liesel and Kellie. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Goetowski.
