Paul B. Long, 74, of Newberry, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Palmetto Health Richland.
Born June 8, 1942 in Newberry, he was a son of the late Paul H. and Gladys Ballentine Long.
Mr. Long was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the SC Poultry Association and former member of the Bush River Fire Department and the Bush River Young Farmers.
Paul was a self-employed farmer who thoroughly enjoyed working with his turkeys and cows. He was previously employed with Warren Cousins for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife Robin White Long; children, Kimberly McCaskill (Wesley) of Lugoff, Jason Long and Monica Floyd, both of Newberry; grandchildren, Chelsea, Ryan, and Chloe McCaskill, Andrew and Brooklyn Long, and Heath and Lukas Floyd; and a sister, Lucile Long Robbins (Jim) of Ovilla, TX.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Long; a daughter, Sandra Ophelia Long; and a brother, John Luther Long.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 31 at St. James Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. James Shealy.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Long, Mike Cousins, Luther Long, Ben Dukes, Keith Johnson, and Hunter Johnson.
