Paul O. Wicker 57 of Hickory Tavern died Tuesday September 14 2010. Born in Newberry on July 19 1953 he was a son of Mary Lou Wicker Copeland and the late E. Robert Wicker. Paul was retired from Whitten Center and was of the Presbyterian faith. In addition to his mother of Hickory Tavern he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Rosemary Wicker of Hickory Tavern; niece and her husband Erika and Brian Clark of Columbia; nephew and his wife Capt Robert E. and Kaitlin Wicker of North Carolina; great niece Stella Clark and great nephew Collin Wicker. He was predeceased by his father Robert Wicker brother J. Keith Wicker and step-father Harold Copeland. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry by the Rev. Mark Coker. Interment was in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Whitaker Funeral Home.
