Phyllis Wise Amick 71 of 207 N. Main St. Prosperity widow of Curtis M. Amick died Tuesday August 26 2003 at the Lowman Home.Mrs. Amick was born in Atlanta on September 20 1931 a daughter of the late Patrick E. and Bertha E. Putzek Wise.Mrs. Amick was a high school teacher for 37 years. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer the S.C. Education Association the National Education Association the S.C. Science Council the National Science Teachers Association and she was a past president and Honorary Life Member of the Prosperity Literacy Sorosis.Mrs. Amick is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Laura A. and Mike Ufford of Lexington; a son and daughter-in-law Curtis M. Amick Jr. and Mary Lynn Kemick of Cayce; a sister Pat Scott of Prosperity and five grandchildren Jordan Kirkpatrick Jessica Ufford Kamryn Ufford Elizabeth Amick and David Amick.Funeral services for Phyllis Wise Amick will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Interment will be in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence of Pat Scott 409 S.
