Polly Ann Turkaly, 75 of Newberry, died on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Sunrise of Northgate, Memory Care Facility in Seattle, WA.
Born on December 27, 1941 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Thelma Kemmerlin Fogle and Thurman Fogle.
She was a retired licensed cosmetologist in the states of South Carolina and Pennsylvania.
A member of St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, she served on the Finance Committee and was also a member of the Ladies Guild. Polly was a past president of the Newberry Newcomers Club. While living in Germany she volunteered over 850 hours to the American Red Cross as a Dental Assistant. She also volunteered with the Army Community Services and donated time to the Community Chaplains Office.
Polly enjoyed gardening and doing a variety of crafts including stained glass and making jewelry.
She is survived by daughters Theresa Ruttan (Norm) of Everett, WA and Danielle Mari of Everett, WA; grandchildren, Anna Ruttan and Stephen Ruttan; her dog, Tootie; and a sister Patricia Watson of Orangeburg.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, her brother, TV Fogle and her dog, Lucy.
The Rosary will be recited at 5:30 PM, Thursday, November 30 with the visitation to follow from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 1, 2017 at St Mark's Catholic Church. Interment will be in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery.
