Popie Helen Coleman Harps wife of the late Col. Joseph F. Harps died on May 16 2007. Born in Newberry County she was a daughter of the late Patrick Gary Coleman and Popie Webb Coleman. She was a l941 graduate of Furman University.She is survived by her son Joseph Patrick Harps daughter-in-law Ellenor McCaughrin Harps granddaughter Sidney Hesley Harps and grandson Patrick McCaughrin Harps all of Alpharetta Georgia. Also surviving are her sisters Jeanne C. Robinson of Columbia and Mary Frances C. Lown of North Augusta.Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday May 26 2007 at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry and the family did receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church in Chappells South Carolina did follow the service. Memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home P. O.
