Wayne was born on July 5, 1959, in Union, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Ordie Robert Campbell and the late Elizabeth Eugenia Stone Campbell.

A pillar of the Whitmire Community, Wayne touched the lives of so many. He dedicated his life to the people of his beloved town and above all his family. With his captivating smile, contagious laugh, and honorable character, he brought joy to those around him and placed a blanket of warmth and trust in those that confided in him.

Wayne was a devoted Christian who attended Whitmire Presbyterian Church, where he formerly served as a Deacon. He was a member, board member, as well as, past President of the Newberry County Shrine Club, and a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was also a member of Roseboro 195 AFM Masonic Lodge. He dedicated a lot of his life to helping others and showed his passion of care by volunteering through the Whitmire Rescue Squad for several years. He was an avid supporter of the Whitmire Wolverine Athletic Department, lending a hand whenever one was needed.

Wayne was known by his sons as the most loving and caring father. He was known by his sister as the big brother to look up to and he was the best uncle, grandfather, and friend you could imagine. He climbed mountains for those he loved and cherished. Above all his legacy was shown by how proud he was of his sons, Andrew and Ethan. As well as the joy his grandchildren brought him.

Wayne is survived by his sons, Andrew Campbell (Ginna) and Ethan Campbell (Erika); his beloved grandchildren, Harper Campbell, Ansel Campbell and Collins Campbell; and his sister, Audrey Jean Walter (Matt). He is also survived by his nieces, Hannah Bradford (Will) and Morgan Walter; as well as his special cousin, Patricia "Trish" Fulmer and a host of cousins.
