Ramonia F. Lindler

Ramonia Elizabeth Free Lindler, 90, entered eternal rest peacefully, Tuesday, July 21,2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on July 24, 1935, to the late Joseph and Leola Meetze Free and spent her early years on Joe Free Road in the White Rock community. On July 1, 1950, she married the love of her life, James Carroll Lindler. Together they built a home filled with faith, love, hard work, and cherished family memories until his passing on September 3, 1990.

A faithful and active member of St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church, Ramonia was active for many years in the church’s Lydia Circle women’s group; later Lutheran Church Women (LCW) and UP & GOING groups. Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her servant’s heart, her generosity, and her love for others. She was committed to daily bible reading & prayers.

Ramonia was all about rearing children. A homemaker/stay at home mom for many years, she cared for her children, relative’s children, family and friends’ children in a daycare operated from her home. She lovingly treated each one as if they were her own; teaching them and impacting their lives forever.

In her later years, she accepted a job at Chapin’s Children Center (now Abner Montessori) working for 30 years before retiring. The impacts of her love can be seen in the relationships she developed with the owners, co-workers, parents and many, many children. The effects of her love, guidance, dedication, caring spirit, strong work ethic can be seen in the countless children who are now grown as they often reunited with “Grandma”, “Aunt Monie”, “Ramonia”; as she may have been called by each.

Ramonia found joy in life’s simple blessings. She loved traveling with family, friends, and tour groups, dancing whenever she had the opportunity, and even spending time fishing, a hobby she greatly enjoyed and developed from early, boat fishing trips to “Blacks Bridge” with her own young children and husband

She is survived by her sons, Robert (June) Lindler and Gerald (Robin) Lindler; her cherished grandchildren, Dawn (Kenny), Jeremy (Monica), Jill (Robert), Chad (Caroline), Brittany (Josh), and Patrick (Suzanne); and her beloved great-grandchildren, Gracie (Sam), Tommy (Anselle), Lauren, Layla, Dawson, Anna Claire, Elizabeth, Kati June, Cora, and Tate. She was expecting her first great-great grandchild in October.

In addition to her husband, James Carroll Lindler, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kelly Michelle Lindler Watts; her brother, Thomas Lee Free; and her special companion, Raymond Meetze.

The family is forever grateful to the staff and caregivers of Generations of Chapin, Care by Generations, and MSA Hospice for providing exceptional care and compassion over the past few years. We recognize all the faithful new and old friends/ residents of Generations as they shared their love in daily interactions and activities.

Finally, we extend our appreciation to all “children” that share mama’s love.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Lindler, Dawson Lindler, Chad Lindler, Tommy Bowers, Bryan Browder, Danny Free, Roger Pryor and Patrick Parada, who is currently serving our country in Iraq.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 25, 2026, at St. Jacob's Lutheran Church. Officiated by Rev. David W. Nuottila.

The family would like to ask those who are planning to attend the funeral service to please dress casually.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM, Friday, July 24, 2026, at St. Jacob's Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church; Lutheran Women’s Group; and or to St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church, Playground Fund.
