Obituary

Randolph Jackson Zink 79, of Chandler, NC and Chappells, SC, died August 9, 2018 in Chappells. Born on May 11, 1939 in Ashville, NC, he was a son of the late Randolph Ward Zink and Anna Kate Ramsey Zink. He was a member of Marshall Presbyterian Church in NC and the owner and operator of Lifeline Medical. He was the epitome of a collector. His collection included everything and if you needed it he most likely had it. A caring man, he demonstrated his kindness though his involvement and friendships with others. He supported and helped many people in numerous ways throughout his life. His advice and counsel was always free. Jack was very involved in many activities with his sons as he raised them to be independent young men. He became a second father to so many of his sons friends. Jack loved his wife and family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, his dogs, NASCAR, and his lake house. He shared his love of racing and the lake with anyone who wanted to be a part of the family. He was affiliated with several organizations and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Joyce Mehaffey Zink; sons Christopher Zink of Salisbury, NC, Jay Zink (Alice) of Candler, NC and David Zink of Chappells, SC; grandchildren, Katherine Miller (Jason), Samantha Leigh Zink and Joseph Christopher Bassett (Elizabeth); great grandchildren, Joseph, Juliet, Tilly, Izzy and Reed. He is also survived by his three dogs, Sugar Cookie, Chico and Missy. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William Bernard Zink. Services are incomplete at this time.
