Rena Wessinger Hughey 96 formerly of 2901 Fair Ave. Newberry widow of Grady Lee Hughey died Thursday November 6 2003 at White Oak Manor. Mrs. Hughey was born on October 24 1907 in Gaffney a daughter of the late Hiram F. and Jean Lavender Wessinger. She was retired employee of Oakland Plant Kendall Company and a member of College Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Hughey is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Barbara Jean and the Rev. John Wood of Marshville NC and Daphine and Henry Haltiwanger of Newberry; five grandchildren Jeannie W. Hargette Kerri W. Collins John Jeffery Wood Lindy Moore and Grady Brooks Haltiwanger; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services for Rena W. Hughey will be conducted at 5:00 P. M. Sunday in Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Kenneth Ferrell. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 P. M. Saturday at the Whitaker Funeral Home.
