Renee Hedgepath Shipes 49 of 1212 Mud Creek Road Newberry died Tuesday evening at her home. She was born on April 2 1962 in Newberry the daughter of Shelby Dowd Hedgepath of Newberry and the late Tommy L. Hedgepath. Renee was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and attended Cross Point Church. She was employed as Parts Manager at H. L. Hedgepath and Sons. In addition to her mother she is survived by her son Tyler H. Shipes of Newberry; step-children Kimmie Shipes of Columbia and Kirby Shipes of Costa Rica; brother and sister-in-law Tony and Gina Hedgepath of Newberry; and nephews Joshua and Justin Hedgepath. She was predeceased by her father and a daughter Christine Hardin. Funeral services were conducted at 4:00 P.M. Friday at Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jeff ODell and Rev. Bill Stone. Interment did follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family did receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry. Pallbearers were Greg Sanford Kevin Looney Charles Vannoy Vince Cromer Chip Lake Steve Suber Furman Porter and Mac Cathcart. Honorary pallbearers were Windy Hair Faye Worthy Leesa Chavis Terry Benton Fred Martin April Brown Travis Chapman Butch Price and Michelle Cromer.
