Richard L. "Dick" Britt of Irmo died peacefully Sunday, March 2, 2025, at home. Mr. Britt was born on August 26, 1931 in Charleston, West Virginia, and was the son of the late Charles and Kathleen Britt. He was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church and Mid-Carolina Country Club. He was employed with Southern Bell (AT&T) for over 35 years; after retirement he enjoyed traveling, playing golf, Clemson football, and spending time with his family.

Mr. Britt is survived by his wife, Joyce Monts Britt. He is also survived by two daughters; Teala (Steve) Armfield and Tonya O'Cain; two sons, Terry (Marlene) Britt and Toby (Meg) Britt; two stepsons, Allen Monts and Donald Monts; six grandchildren, Michelle (Melissa) Armfield, Ashley (James) Loging, Stuart (Hope) Britt, Blake (Mary Jane) Britt, Toby Jr (Christina) Britt, Tanner O'Cain; two step-grandsons, Joseph (Roma) Monts and Zachary (Nicole) Monts; two step-granddaughters, Jaime Monts and Amanda (Jeremy) Quick; nine great-grandchildren, Sophie Carolyn, Bryce Loging, Finn Armfield, Bailee Loging, Cannon Britt, Wesley Britt, Hunter Britt, Mary Ellison Britt, and Oakleigh Britt; seven step great-grandsons, Michael LeMay, Cash Crone, Cole Jones, Jacob Jones, Rhett Monts, Liam Monts, and Theo Monts; four step great-granddaughters, Emma Martin, Chloe Crone, Madeline LeMay, and Zoey Jones. Also surviving is a cousin, Everette (Carolyn) Parsons.

Mr. Britt is predeceased by his first wife of 55 years, Dolores W. "Dee" Britt. He is also predeceased by a brother, Jerry Britt; a grandson, Brad Armfield; and a step granddaughter, Ashley Monts.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry.
