Richard "Dick" Clark Neel, III, 86, of Silverstreet died Friday, September 15, 2023 at White Oak Manor.

Born on January 3, 1937 in Newberry County, he was a son of the late Richard C. and Katura Abrams Neel, Jr.

He was a graduate of Clemson University and worked as a Rural mail Carrier for the US Postal Service. Dick was also a dairy farmer and a merchant both in Silverstreet and, for many years, in flea markets around the state. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, and eagerly looked forward to visits from his grandchildren. He served his community as a Sunday School teacher, and as Volunteer Firefighter and Chief of the Silverstreet Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anne Bowers Neel; children, Nan Loadholdt (Gary) of Irmo, and Harold B. Neel (Peggy) of Greer; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Neel; grandchildren: Michael Loadholdt (Kristi), Jeremy Loadholdt (Sara), Garrett Neel, Collin Neel, Emily Knight (Todd); and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Richard Clark Neel, IV (Clark); and grandson, Richard Clark Neel, V (RC).

Private services will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Shriners Children's Hospitals.
