Richard "Ricky" Lloyd Bickley, 71, of Newberry died Saturday November 13, 2021.
He was born in Newberry on December 31, 1949 a son of the late Lloyd O. and Martha Bickley.
Ricky was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam Era, and later worked for many years as a supervisor in the textile industry. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and a member of the senior choir.
He is survived by his siblings, Alan (Peggie) Bickley and Peggy Derrick and sister-in-law, Carol Bickley, all of Newberry. Ricky is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings and their spouses, Orin (Mary) Sandel, Toretha (Sam) Shealy, Barney Bickley,, Robert "Bud" (Mary) Bickley, Judy (Benson) VanWinkle, and Danny Bickley; and his brother-in-law, Joel Derrick.
Funeral services for Ricky will be conducted by the Rev. Jason Schafer and Rev. Bobby Morris on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 2 PM at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery and the family will receive friends following the service.
Active pallbearers will be Chesley Minick, Terry Koon, Tony Bickley, Jonathan Bickley, Jeff Bickley, Caleb Bickley, Colby Bickley, and Charles Perry.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Robbie Lester, James Enlow, Randy Kitchen, Lynn Bickley, Jane Bickley, Kirsten Bickley, Haley Hawkins, Donnie Hawkins, Sheri Wicker, and members of the St. Luke's Senior Choir.
