Robert "Bob" Earl Buckley, 77, of Prosperity, SC, husband of Sharon Hardin Buckley, died Friday, November 12, 2021, surrounded by family.
Born on November 10, 1944 in Richmond, IN, he was the son of Nancy McLear Buckley and the late Raymond Earl Buckley.
In 1990, Bob founded Buckley Excavating in Richmond, IN, where he worked until retiring to his home on Lake Murray in 2015. He enjoyed lake life to the fullest and quickly formed many new and treasured friendships in South Carolina. Bob loved the outdoors and enjoyed those things that took him outdoors including fishing, boating, and golf. He had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and lived life to the fullest every day. He loved spending time with his wife and family most of all and took special delight in getting to know each new grandchild and great-grandchild as they came along. Bob never met a stranger and he will be greatly missed by family and friends near and far.
In addition to his mother, Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon Hardin Buckley of Prosperity; children, Connie Lawler (Ron) of Greenville, SC, Jeff Buckley (Jeri) of Zionsville, IN, and Brenda Moore (Bryan) of Layton, UT; grandchildren, Brandy Smith (Les), Jacob Lawler (Danielle), John Lawler, Jessica Dale (Chris), Jon Buckley (Jenn), Zach Masters, Ben Masters, Chantell Moore (Josh), Kimberly Moore, and Sydney Moore (Brady Tidwell); great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Brendle, Mason Smith, Colton Dale, Grayson and Landon Buckley, Mavis and Maloriegh Moore; siblings, Virginia Buckley, Jim Buckley (Mary), John Buckley (Kim), Paul Buckley; his dog Benji, and Sophie the cat.
He was predeceased by his father, his sister-in-law, Cherryl Buckley, and his beloved labrador retriever, Shadow.
To honor and celebrate Bob's life and his love of the outdoors, services will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 3:00 at his residence.
