Robert (Bob) Fowler Caughman, 69 of Omaha, Nebraska widower of Jacqueline "Jackie" Caughman, died October 3, 2018 in Omaha. Born in Columbia, SC on August 12, 1949, he was a son of the late George Perry (G. P.) Jr. and Eleanor Fowler Caughman. Robert attended Columbia schools and while living in Columbia, he was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church . He retired from the U. S. Navy after 20 years. Following his retirement, he was an over-the-road truck driver. After he and his wife, Jackie, both retired, they became work-campers going to many different places in the U.S. Following the death of his wife, he moved into the Omaha area to be near his daughter and her family. Robert is survived by his daughters, Christina "Chris" Opat (Mike) of Omaha, Nebraska and Geraldine "Jeri" (Dave) Treb of Germany; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Helen C. Campbell of Columbia, SC and brother, Huger (Anne) Caughman of Newberry, SC; two nephews and a niece. Robert was predeceased by his wife, parents and a brother, G. Perry Caughman, III. Memorial services will be held 11 AM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1715 Bull Street, Columbia.
