Robert F. "Pa" Wood 94 of Newberry died Saturday February 27 2010 in Laurens County Hospice House in Clinton.Mr. Wood was born on March 12 1915 in Danbury CT the son of the late Robert E. and Anna Weber Wood. He was a Navy veteran of WW II. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and the VFW Post 409 in Danbury.He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Sandra W. and James Hunt of Newberry and Pamela W. and Tony Castronovo of Sebring Fl; grandchildren Ashley Hunt Charles Michael Castronovo and Tony Castronovo; a step-son Theodore Wagner of Danbury CT; and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Jeanette "Jan" "Ma" Budd Wood and a sister Gladys Euler. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Whitaker Funeral Home by Rev. Bruce Palmer and Rev. Stephen Todd.Honorary pallbearers were his close friends Joe Palmer B.L. Brown Huger Caughman Tommy Longshore James Smith Phyllis Sanders Woody and Nancy Lathrop and Bruce and Joyce Palmer.
