Robert Wayne "Butch" Stewart of Prosperity, 78 years old, died on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home. Born in Newberry, he was a son of the late Glenn L. Stewart and Margie Smith Stewart. Butch had attended Newberry Disabilities and Special Needs and worked in the Pride Business Center. He was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church. A kind and loving person, he was always happy and embraced every moment with fun and enjoyment. He was continuously on "go" mode and simple pleasures such as a ride in the back seat of a car or listening to country music and watching western movies were treats for Butch. And he loved fishing, especially with his father and step-mother. He will always hold a special place in the hearts of many. Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Judy Nobles of Prosperity; a nephew, Nathan Nobles of Prosperity; and two nieces, Amber Tarver and Debra Watson of Newberry. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepmother, Dorothy Shealy Nobles Stewart; his sister, Sylvia S. Evans and his nephew, Jarad Nobles. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 6:30 PM Friday, October 9, 2020 at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 10 in Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Rev. Jason Schafer. Pallbearers will be Al Tarver, Allen Tarver, Andy Tarver.
