Robert W. "Bob" Marconi, 74, of Chapin peacefully passed with his wife by his side on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Lexington Medical Center resulting from complications of advanced stage cancer.
Bob was born in White Plains, NY, a son of the late Albert and Elvira Statuti Marconi. He spent his work years as a self-employed electrician.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church where he was also a member of the Men's Club and of the Volunteers of the church. Additionally, Bob was a long-time volunteer member of the Dobbs Ferry Fire Department and a member of the Edsel Owners Club.
He was very dedicated to his profession and always enjoyed working as an electrician. Kind, caring and steadfast, Bob was a man who gladly helped others. After he finished eating a meal, his favorite expression was "What's for supper, Alice!".
Bob was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Marilyn Anita Marconi; children and their spouse, Michael and Betsy Marconi of Chappaqua, NY and Karen and Victor Velasquez of Yorktown Heights, NY; step-children and their spouses, Lenny and Eva Letizia of Wappingers Falls, NY and Gina and John Hendrickson of Ossining, NY; siblings and their spouses, Patricia and Larry Young of Dobbs Ferry, NY and Richard and Gilda Marconi of Homosassa, FL; grandchildren, Gabriella, Gianna, and Angela Marconi, Lucas and Chloe Velasquez, Mackenzie and Andrew Letizia, and Henry and Thomas Minet; his aunt, Eleanor Hardy of White Plains, NY; and a number of cousins.
A memorial service will take place at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. led by the Rev. Dennis B. Willey. Burial will take place at a later date.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Lexington Medical Center Foundation.
