Obituary

Ronald B. "Ron" Cameron, Jr. of Bethesda, MD and Chapin, SC, went to be with Our Lord on Monday, February 1, 2021, with his family by his side. Ron was born in Boston, MA on February 2, 1944. He was the son of the late Ronald B. "Ron" and Doris Van Buskirk Cameron. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was proud to have served as a "Green Beret". Lake Murray was a place of enjoyment for Ron. He enjoyed relaxing on his porch with family and friends. He was a huge fan of the Washington Football Team as well as the South Carolina Gamecocks. Blessed with a caring and kind heart, Ron was a man who was always involved in helping others. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Joan Carlin Cameron and his sons, Kyle and Kevin of Chapin. He is also survived by his sister, Suzy Halleland (Henry) of Charlotte. Uncle Ron was dearly loved by all of his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews for whom he had a deep fondness. Also survived by members of the Kelly family. A celebration of Ron's life will be held at a future date. Memorials in honor of Ron can be made to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America at bbbsfoundation.org.
