Ronald W. "Ronnie" Shealy, 61, of Newberry, died Wednesday evening, July 6, 2016. Born July 13, 1954, he was a son of the late Robert H. Shealy and Elizabeth Ann Zobel Shealy. He was retired from Duke Energy after 43 years of service. Ronnie was a member of Colony Lutheran Church and was currently serving on Congregational Council. He loved hunting and fishing, traveling throughout the country and especially enjoyed his hunting and fishing trips. For years he served as a fishing guide. Ronnie was also a great gardener and a great cook. In his granddaughter's words, he was always kind and loving to everybody. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debbie Cromer Shealy; children, Melanie Shealy Price (Chuck) and Brent Shealy both of Newberry; granddaughter, Kara Ann Shealy; brother, Robert "Humphrie" Shealy, Jr. of Pomaria and mother-in-law, Bonnie Pitts Cromer of Newberry. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law, Ralph E. Cromer. Visitation will be Friday, July 8, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Colony Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Jerry Trantham. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
