Rosa Lee Parrott Neal, 100, of Whitmire, died Monday, May 21, 2018 at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home. Born on February 26, 1918 in Newberry County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Ben and Mandy Richardson Parrott. She was a retired employee of J. P. Stevens. Mrs. Neal was a hard-working lady and a loving mother, who raised her two children almost by herself. She enjoyed crappie fishing on Lake Murray and going for rides, especially to the mountains. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Benny and Linda Neal of Lenoir, NC; grandchildren and their spouses, Benny and Janet Neal, Dan Neal, Cindy and Ricky Townsend, and Tina Neal Crump all of Lenoir, NC, Steve and Sheri Martin of Clinton, SC, and Teresa Martin of Laurens, SC; 8 great-grandchildren; and 6 great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Rauce Neal; her daughter, Margaret Martin; her sister, Cara Mae Harmon; and 3 grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. David Torrey. Interment will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
