Rosie Harris McCall, 73, of Newberry, SC died Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Palmetto Health Richland after an extensive illness. Mrs. McCall was born in Newberry, a daughter of the late James and Juanita Harris. She was a retired employee of Generations of Chapin and she attended Prosperity Church of God. She loved spending time with her grandchildren as well as cooking and baking, especially during the holidays, for family and friends. Rosie had a great sense of family. As the Matriarch of her family, she was very supportive of them. She is survived by her children, James McCall of Newberry and Amanda Wilson (Shannon Russell) of Charlotte; grandchildren who knew her as "Grammy", Emma Wilson, Jadzia McCall, and Eden McCall; siblings, Judy Moore of Chappells, Bernice Lever of Prosperity, Carolyn Sexton (Billy) of Prosperity, Tony Harris of Newberry and Clifton Harris of Clinton; aunt, Corrie Davenport of Ladson; uncle, Walter Crumpton of Columbia; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Winston F. "Frank" McCall, brother, James "Jimmy" Harris, and a daughter in law, Teri McCall. Funeral services will be held at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 am conducted by Rev. James Chaffin. Interment will be in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:30 until 7:30 PM Friday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be James Harris, Clint McKinney, William McKinney, Leonard Foster, James Spencer, and Timmy Barnes.
