Obituary

Roxanne Longshore 59 of Newberry died after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday April 11 2015 at Newbery County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday at New Chapel United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Ken Carter. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Ruth Pugh Foundation PO Box 856 Newberry SC 29108 or to New Chapel United Methodist Church c/o Judy Shaver 3444 Belfast Rd. Newberry SC 29108. She was born in Clinton SC on April 14 1955 a daughter of Donald L. and Sara Copeland Longshore. She was a member of New Chapel United Methodist Church. Roxanne was active with the Newberry County Disabilities and Special Needs Agency enjoying the activities and the people she encountered during her years there. To her family and friends this extraordinary child of God will be remembered for her innocence her unconditional love for others and her laughter and giggles all of which she sustained even during her final struggles. In addition to her parents Donald and Sara of Newberry she is survived by her siblings Donald L. Donnie Longshore Jr. Thomas Michael and Theresa Longshore and Julie L. and Joe Lake all of Newberry; uncles James M. Buddy Copeland and Richard Copeland both of Clinton Edwin Alexander of Mountville and Joel Cox of Edisto Beach; nieces and nephews; Jessica (Bryon) Jeffcoat J.D. (Chelsea) Lake Brandon (Stacey) Longshore Kali (Garrett) Setzler Ashton (Mary) Longshore; and seven great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by grandparents Hugh and Eunice Longshore and James and Willie Mae Copeland. Pallbearers will be Roxannes nephews and cousins. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny and Suzie Fulmer Becky Ruff Ray Sligh Wilson Cleland Liz Douglas Martha Boyd Pam Pruitt San Gallman and Sonja Richardson. The family greatly appreciates the love and care that the members of New Chapel United Methodist Church and the staff at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital have given to Roxanne and her family.
