Ruby Wilson Chapman 92 of 5663 SC Highway 395 widow of Malcolm Harrison Chapman left her loved ones Monday June 23 2008 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.She was born on September 9 1915 in Newberry County to the late George Calhoun and Claudia Mae Long Wilson. She was a graduate of Stoney Hill High School Class of 1933 and twice retired from Old School Manufacturing. She was a dedicated and beloved member of the Flowers From the Heart family. She loved quilting crocheting sewing cooking gardening her flowers and anything she could do with her hands. Known as Gannie Ruby Grandmama and Gruby she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Miss Ruby was a life long member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher a member of the Adult I Sunday School Class and a charter member of the Lula Hunter Circle of WELCA. Mrs. Chapman is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Harriett and Fred Kesler; a son and daughter-in-law Terry and Cammie Chapman of Stanley NC; Grandchildren and their spouses Travis Chapman Becky and Brian Kinard. Christie and Scott Gardner and James Kesler all of Newberry; great grandchildren Jessica Chapman Brianna and Baylee Kinard and Payton and Austin Gardner; step grandchildren and spouses Andrea Godwin of Charlotte and Kelly and Clare Miller of Huntersville; step great-grandchildren Lilly Godwin and Brayden Miller; sisters Virginia Wicker Carolyn Norris and Christine Dennis all of Newberry and a brother Clarence Wilson of Newberry. She was predeceased by her brothers Maxey and Woodrow Wilson. Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 P.M. Thursday at St. Lukes Lutheran Church by the Rev. Arden Hallman and the Rev. Henry Brandt. Interment was in the Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday at Whitaker Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandsons Travis Chapman and James Kesler and nephews Pete Wilson Joe Wilson Joel Wilson Don Dennis and Von Dennis.
