Ruth Clary Price 85 widow of James Steven Price died Tuesday April 22 2003. Mrs. Price was born on August 9 1917 in Newberry a daughter of the late Matthew Wills and Eva Bouknight Clary. Mrs. Price was a Class of 1938 graduate of Newberry College and a member of the Newberry College Singers. She was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for over 30 years. She retired from the South Carolina National Bank after 30 years of service.Mrs. Price is survived by a twin sister Ruby Clary Glenn of Greenwood; a daughter and son-in-law Eve Price and Alan Powell of Columbia; a son and daughter-in-law James Steven Price Jr. and Shirley Chaples Price of Charleston; grandchildren Paige White of Atlanta Lauren Harris of Charlotte Clary and Grayson Powell of Columbia and Jeff Mackin of Port Orange FL; nieces and nephews Elaine and Joseph Verdol and Dallas Glenn and families of Atlanta; Owen and Don Clary and families of Columbia and Betsy Smith and family of Greenville; and great-grandsons Corey White and Caleb Harris. Mrs. Price is survived by the families of her deceased husband. She was predeceased by her brothers Matthew Wilson Clary Benjamin Owen Clary and James McVey Clary.Funeral services for Ruth Clary Price will be conducted at 1:00 P. M. Saturday April 26 2003 at the First Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Harmon. Interment will be in the Rosemont Cemetery.The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 P. M. at the Whitaker Funeral Home.
