Ruth Hamm Nichols 75 of 5664 Deadfall Road Silverstreet and widow of David R. Nichols died Tuesday March 24 2009 at Palmetto Health Richland. She was born in Macon Georgia on February 10 1934 to the late Rev. Dr. Luther Boyd Hamm and the late Mildred Wheeler Hamm. Mrs. Nichols was a graduate of Columbia College and taught third grade at Reuben Elementary School for a number of years. She was an active member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Susan and James F. Clements Jr. of Roswell GA; son and daughter-in-law Donald and Judy N. Nichols of Gilbert SC; grandchildren Amanda Nichols Johnson Robin Melissa Nichols James David Clements and Rebecca Robinson Clements; and sisters Patricia Hamm Wagner of Seattle WA Virginia Hamm Shirley and Carol Hamm Strickland both of Hickory NC.Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Silverstreet Lutheran Church by the Rev. Steve Jackson and the Rev. Dr. Robert McCullum. Interment was in Silverstreet Lutheran Church Cemetery.Visitation was from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M.
