Ruth Ann Singley Reese, 94, of Newberry, SC, died Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Newberry Health.
Born on August 3, 1931, in Newberry, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Willie Ernest and Louise Morris Singley, Sr.
Ruth Ann attended Newberry Public Schools and graduated from Silverstreet High School. She lived In Aiken, SC for 45 years before moving back to Newberry in 1998.
She retired from Whites Department Store in Aiken, SC. Ruth Ann was a faithful member of Ebenezer Methodist Church and while living in Aiken, a member of St John’s United Methodist Church in Graniteville.
Ruth Ann is survived by her sister-in-law, Peggy R. Longshore (Larry) who was her care giver; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn R. Lancaster, Virginia R. Porter (Wayne); special nieces, Charlotte Berry, Annette Johnson (Mark), and Mary Carlisle (Tim); special nephews, Kevin and Todd Sanders; great- great nephew, Elijah Brewer; numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews. As well by many special friends at Ebenezer Methodist Church.
Ruth Ann is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, John A. Reese, Sr.; as well as her son, John A. Reese, Jr.; and brothers, Willie E. Singley, Jr. and David Morris Singley.
Family will gather for visitation, from 11:00 until 11:45AM, Friday, February 6, 2026, at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry.
Funeral Service will be held 12:00 PM, Friday, February 6, 2026, at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry. Officiated by Pastor Jimmy Counts.
Burial will follow at 3:00 PM, Friday, February 6, 2026, at Aiken Memorial Gardens. 1523 Edgefield Hwy, Aiken, SC, 29801.
