IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sadie Rae
Bundrick Epting
June 4, 1937 – August 26, 2024
Sadie Rae Bundrick Epting, 87 of Newberry died Monday, August 26,2024 at Agape House of Lexington.
Born on June 4, 1937 in Little Mountain, SC, she was a daughter of the late Silas O'Neal Bundrick and Leola Kinard Bundrick.
She retired after working many years at Georgia Pacific as a secretary and later as office manager.
Sadie was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and served in several roles including church secretary, sang in the choir, preparing the bulletins for services, Newsletter Committee and most importantly she was responsible for making the banana bread for all of the newcomers to the church.
She enjoyed sewing, and made many of her kid's clothes as they were growing up; traveling; spending time with her family, especially at holidays; and cooking. Although she would say she would "throw" a little something together for a meal, it would usually consist of 10 or more various and delicious dishes. No one went hungry, and laughter was the "main" course at the table after thanks were given.
Sadie was the life of the party amongst her friends. She loved a good joke and always had one ready to share in return. Sadie had the biggest heart and loved her family. She also loved the company of her "fur baby" cats which Snag pretended to dislike but she knew better.
She is survived by her children Susan E. Chalmers (Eddie) and Sandy Bailey Lawson (David); grandchildren Stacy Chalmers, Brandon Wicker, Bryan Chalmers, Meleah Koenig, Rachel Nelson, Corey Fowler, and Jordan Jackson; seventeen great-grandchildren; and son-in-law Joe Dimock.
In addition to her longtime caregiver and husband of 67 years James B. "Snag" Epting, her parents, Silas O'Neal and Leola K. Bundrick, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Sheryl Dimock; and her siblings, Lamar Bundrick, Clarence Bundrick, Richard Bundrick, Mary Frances Bowers, Gladys B. Hazel, and Nellie Lindsey.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Jane Mitcham at 2pm, Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church in Prosperity, SC. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, starting at 1pm.
The family would like to give special thanks to Springfield Assisted Living Staff in Newberry and to Liza's Home Healthcare and Lexington Agape Hospice, for all the personalized care they gave Sadie.
