Sallie Abrams Campbell, 73, of the Lowman Home, died Monday, February 1, 2016, at Providence Hospital.
Mrs. Campbell was born on July 4, 1942, in Newberry, the daughter of the late Warren and Deree Bryson Abrams. She was a graduate of the Columbia Hospital School of Nursing and was a registered nurse with Palmetto Health Baptist until her retirement in 2005. She enjoyed her work and was well respected by her coworkers.
She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian, where she was a choir member as long as she was able. She loved her puppies, "Heidi" and "Angel", and going to the beach with her family. After her retirement, she enjoyed being part of the "Red Hat Ladies".
Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband of 50 years, David W. Campbell, Sr.; her sons, David W. Campbell, Jr (Amanda) of Irmo and Brian Campbell (Tracey) of Loris; a sister, Deree Smith of Timmonsville; and her grandchildren whom she truly loved and who called her their "MeMa", Thomas, Moriah, Emily, Zachary, Bryson, Elena, Blake, and Trevor.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM Friday by the Rev. Dr. Dale Welden. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery in Newberry.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 Noon until 1:30 prior to the funeral service.
