Samantha Faye Burns, 60, formerly of Newberry, died Friday morning, February 7, 2025, at her residence in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Born in Newberry on December 21, 1964, she was a daughter to the late Carl Sam Burns and Faye Taylor Burns Evans.

Samantha was a graduate of Newberry High School. She was a very happy person always wearing a smile. Samantha was not known to be shy, but rather a very sociable, outgoing individual; someone who would speak to virtually everyone she encountered. She never met a stranger and was always ready to share one of her warm hugs with you.

In her younger years, she enjoyed riding her bike with friends, riding horses, swimming, and jumping on the trampoline for countless hours. She worked various jobs in her adult years and especially enjoyed her time spent sorting and delivering mail within her work community. She had a fondness for Elvis Presley and his music and an equal fondness for anything chocolate.

She is survived by sisters, Sandra Burns Oxner and Rebecca "Becky" Burns Garrick (Donald); nieces, Katie James (Michael) and Hope Odom (Kevin); and nephews, Jay Oxner (Belinda) and Wesley Garrick (Melanie). She is also survived by her aunt, June Force and a host of cousins.

Memorial services for Samantha will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry Chapel, Newberry, SC. Following the service, the family will receive friends.
