Sandra J. Kitchen, 72, of Newberry, formerly of Joanna, died, Monday, August 14, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center, Lexington, South Carolina.

Sandra was born in Joanna; she was a daughter to the late Walter Beauford Johnson and the late Gladys Kay Johnson. She was the devoted wife to the late, Mr. Donald "Donnie" L. Kitchen.

Sandra was a devoted Christian and was an active member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was all about family, and whom she loved dearly; her children and grandchildren made up her entire world.

Sandra was an avid Clemson fan and as a pastime, would often enjoy taking trips to the beach.

She is survived by her children, Lee Anne Kitchen-Egleston (Mike) and Shane Kitchen (Amy); grandchildren, Sophie Egleston, Henry Egleston, Derek Vereen, Wallace Kitchen and Davy Kitchen. She is also survived by her sister, Karen Craig and her K-9 companion, Misty.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Fairview Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Sam Cox and Rev. Monty Osborne. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will gather for a time of visitation, Thursday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Whitaker Funeral Home, 1704 College Street, Newberry, SC.

Pallbearers will be, Henry Egleston, Derek Vereen, Wallace Kitchen, Davy Kitchen, John Craig, Buck Craig, Conner Howard and Dakota Bonner.
