Sara Lee Clark, 89, of Newberry, SC died Sunday, September 9, 2018 at her residence. Sara was born in Laurens to the late Thomas Judson and Annie Chapman Lee. After moving to Newberry, SC, she worked at Bergens, first in the Ladies' Shop and later in the Gift Shop. She also assisted retail customers at Andersons' Shoes and Goody's. Sara was an active member of First Baptist Church of Newberry and the Ruth Sunday School Class. Baking was one of her enjoyments. She was a quiet and gentle lady who greeted everyone with her pleasant smile. She shared her love and caring spirit with her family, friends and all children whom she adored. She was married to the late Leon Clark and is survived by three children, AJ (Sam) Baird, Danny Clark and Susan (Mack) Clary all of Newberry; grandchildren, Judd (Trista) Baird, Joshua Baird, Ben (Tori) Baird, Neal (Chelsea) Clark, Brandi (Frankie) Sease, Hal (Julie) Clary, Ryan Clary and Whitney Clary; eleven great grandchildren; sister Laura Red of Laurens and sister-in-law Margaret Lee of Laurens. She was predeceased by a brother, Tom Lee of Laurens. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Newberry conducted by the Rev. Dr. Albert Allen. The family will greet friends and family at the church prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:30 PM. Burial will follow the services in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
