Sara Hawkins Wessinger 90 of 73 Hartford Heights Newberry widow of Terriel E. Wessinger Sr. died Friday August 15 2003 at her residence. Mrs. Wessinger was born on April 3 1913 in Newberry County a daughter of the late Bloomer P. and Mary Elizabeth Sligh Hawkins. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Mrs. Wessinger is survived by two sisters Mary Sease and Elizabeth Shannon both of Newberry; two brothers Bloomer "Jack" Hawkins and Willie Hawkins both of Newberry; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. She was predeceased by a daughter Peggy W. Neeland and a son T.E. "Gene" Wessinger Jr. Funeral services for Sara Hawkins Wessinger will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday at the Whitaker Funeral Home by the Rev. Jim Hager.
