Sarah Ann Nichols Fisher, 83, of Gilbert, died Thursday, March 25, 2021 at her beloved home. Born on July 10, 1937, she is a daughter of the late Leon DuPont and Sarah Martin Nichols. In 1969, she married Robert Douglas Fisher and in the 51 years since, they have built a long life together. Sarah Ann graduated Newberry College with a degree in elementary education and taught in the SC schools for nearly 16 years. Over the years, she and Robert lived in a number of places, including San Antonio where they took up flying Cessna 172's and 152's. Sarah Ann had a number of hobbies centered around using her creative talents; she was a potter, jewelry maker, and overall a general craftsperson. As she and Robert relocated to the Gilbert area, she found the perfect piece of land of which to build a home. She was instrumental in the design and found much joy, peace, and love in their home. Sarah especially loved working in her garden and playing with her dogs. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Gilbert and the Colonial Dames. In addition to her husband, Robert, Sarah is survived by her son, David Barry Fisher, and brother, Leon Nichols, Jr. She is also survived by her nieces, Jessica N. Hall and Caroline Hall Boleyn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Moriat Nichols Dominick. Graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. Judson Merrell on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 4PM in Rosemont Cemetery.
