Sarah Millstead Miller, 90, of Newberry, also known as "Gummie" to her grandson, died Friday, June 10, 2016 at Saluda Nursing Center. Mrs. Miller was born on November 11, 1925 in Newberry, SC, daughter of the late Thomas L. Millstead and Essie Williams Millstead. She was married to the late Edward V. Miller and was retired from Eckard's Drug Store in Chester, SC. A member of West End Baptist Church, she practiced her faith daily. Watching religious programs and reading her Bible were a part of each day's routine. Mrs. Miller was always a very giving person and she sacrificed a lot for others. Survivors include her son, Ralph E. Miller of Newberry; grandchildren, R. Scott Miller of Newberry and Stacey Miller of Greenwood; two great grandchildren, Austin and Kasey; a nephew and a number of nieces. Graveside funeral services will be held in Rosemont Cemetery, Springdale Section at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 18, 2016 conducted by Rev. Stanley Fuller.
