Satira Lindler Lake 85 of 671 Mt. Pilgrim Church Road Prosperity died Tuesday October 6 2009 at Generations of Chapin. Mrs. Lake was born in Chapin on October 30 1923 a daughter of the late Henry Perry "Pete" and Pauline "Polly" Eleazer Lindler. She was a very active alumnus of Newberry College and was a veteran of the Women's Army Corp serving in World War II. Mrs. Lake was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and participated in the WELCA. She was an active member of the Ruritan Club the Newberry American Legion Post 24 and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Everett L. Lake; a daughter and son-in-law Mary Lynn and Tony Watson of Edgefield; a son and daughter-in-law Frank L. and Lin Lake of Prosperity; and grandchildren Amanda W. Wright Natalie Watson Carter Lake and Trevor Lake. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Eddie Epting. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Fred Suhr. Interment was in the church cemetery.Visitation was from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Whitaker Funeral Home Newberry.
