Strategoula E. Galanis 90 of 2518 Henry Ave. Newberry widow of George Galanis died Friday November 26 2004 at Jesse Frank Hawkins Health Care.Mrs. Galanis was born on Feb. 22 1914 in Vassara Laconia Greece the daughter of the late Konstandino and Eleni Karragianni Economoupoulos. She was a member of St. George Orthodox Church in Vassara.Mrs. Galanis is survived by a daughter Litsa Economos of Newberry; two sons Denis Galanis of Long Island NY and Kosta Galanis of Manhattan NY; two grandchildren Toula Economos Hubbard of Columbia and George Galanis of New York; and a great grandson Christopher Hubbard of Columbia. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home by Father Aris Metrakos. Interment was in Newberry Memorial Gardens.Visitation was from 7:30 to 8:30 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
