Stuart was born December 21, 1954 in Livonia, MI to the late Howard A. and June Piecuch Ruelle.
Stuart was a respected restaurateur and later accountant in both the hospitality industry and state government. His true passions, however, were his family, a good story, and laughter; Stuart was masterful at combining all three. His nearly four-decade partnership with his wife demonstrated what a strong marriage can and should be through the good times and the difficult. To his daughters, he was supportive and loving. To his sons-in-law, he was a friend and mentor. To his grandchildren, he was simply Pop Pop or Gramps, the guy who thought they could do no wrong.
Stuart is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan Kelley Ruelle; daughters, Andrea Stark (Derrick) of Lexington, Kelley DeMoss (Jeremy) of Slidell, LA, and Misty Miller (Kyle) of Chapin; siblings, Michael Ruelle (Linda) of Port Orchard, WA, Patrick Ruelle of Farmington, MI, Toni Ruelle of Leesburg, VA, Dorothy Elliott (Pete) of Ypsilanti, MI, and Gene Ruelle (Debra) of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Allie, Hannah, Mason, Carson, Destanee, Keith, and Eli; and his dogs, Maggie and Rocky. He is predeceased by siblings, Christopher and Suzanne Ruelle.
