Sudie Mae Perry, 100, of Newberry, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born on June 5, 1918 in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Eugene "Doc" and Viola Griffin Bledsoe and the late William Edgar Henderson. Sudie worked many years at Kendall Corporation, Mollohan Mill and Kendall Mill. After her retirement, she worked as an office clerk at the Newberry Housing Authority. Mrs. Perry was a member of Epting Memorial United Methodist Church her entire adult life and was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star # 226. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, and arts and crafts, especially ceramics. Sudie was a wonderful homemaker and she loved her family, as well as "Nannie's little angel", Daisy, her beloved dog. She is survived by a grandson, Wayne Perry, Sr. (Pam) of Prosperity; great-grandchildren, Steven Perry, Christy Reynolds, and Wayne Perry, Jr. (Kelly) all of Newberry; great great-grandchildren, Eddie Musgrove, Brenna Perry, Ashtyn Perry, and Eithan Perry; and a brother, Luther Bledsoe of Saluda. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Bacon Perry; son, L. Joel Perry; daughter-in-law, Shirley Jones Perry; and siblings, Kathleen Gibson and James Henry Bledsoe. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Epting Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. William Hightower. A viewing will be held in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Marion Black, Ryan Black, Danny Bledsoe, Mike Rogers, Tyler Waters, and Melvin Gibson.
