Suzanne Lewis Medlock 70 of Chapin died Saturday April 10 2010 at her residence.Born in Winston-Salem North Carolina on July 9 1939 she was the daughter of the late Estelle Whitaker and W. Ralph Lewis. Suzanne was an elementary school teacher for more than thirty years. Her inspiration as a teacher of family and community service continues. She was an active member of Chapin United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class the Marjorie Derrick Circle CUMW and the Friends and Sr. Singles organizations. She belonged to the Chapin Womens Club and the Methodist Misfits. Suzanne treasured her time with family and friends. Ms. Medlock is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Rhett and Cindy Corley of Chapin Reese and Karen Corley of Duluth GA; grandchildren Ty Jayde Kristin Brandon Alec and Sean Corley; brother and sister-in-law Dr. William Bill Jr. and Duncan Lewis of Pebble Beach CA; nieces nephews and many cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter Sharon Corley Robinson. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday at Chapin United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jody Flowers. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery Columbia. Visitation was from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Friday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Chapin.Pallbearers were Ty Corley Brandon Corley Alec Corley Sean Corley John Paul Whitaker Doggett Whitaker James Williams John Glover and Paul Allen.Memorials are suggested to Chapin United Methodist Church PO Box 237 Chapin SC 29036
